As far as needing a new clutch. I have no idea how to tell. I needed a new one due to some springs breaking and causing it not to work. When they did replace my clutch the plates are soooooooo thin I don't even think you can measure them. I was like holy ####, those plates are thin. I guess they are made out of ceramic.

Well, I've been at it for a week and a half. I've learned right off the bat that the Northeast is a dead zone. Everything is a few hundred dollars to the truck and usually not enough after tolls. I've also learned that you have to deliver early on Fridays if you expect to have any chance at a load that runs through the weekend.
The only runs I've run are heavy hazmat loads. They were the only loads on the board that paid half way reasonable after a deadhead. I was planning myself after or just before getting empty, and this is a mistake. I learned you just have to watch the alerts and the board at a certain time of day. I'm not sure how to get in good with the agents, but I will keep running the board and making on time deliveries.
As for the truck, couldn't be happier with my choice. I had super minor things to take care of. The spot mirrors, wipers and cab air filter needed replaced. Oil dipstick tube needed tightened and the oil pan seal needs replaced at next oil change. The Thermo King APU runs well and is the next thing on my list to get serviced so I know what I have for sure.
I hope I learn quickly how to succeed. I've got half of a pretty good week booked next week already.Skate-Board Thanks this. -
Sounds like you're learning quickly and you're positioning yourself for better loads.
