Fair enough. TTR seems to support legal logging, so I was gently saying that wasn't a good idea.

The best advice I could give you is to do it yourself. JJ Keller will charge you roughly $500 for their less than stellar DVD course. I switched from a major company to a smaller one (in the Safety and Compliance department of the office) and when I arrived here they used the JJ Keller DVD. 40 minutes of completely uninteresting BS. They cover everything, oil field exemptions and the like, which most likely don't pertain to your drivers.
I took a few days and created a PowerPoint presentation to give. Having a live instructor teaching a class has a significantly higher impact than sitting some people in front of a DVD. Read part 395 a few times. Read the guidances. Go from there.

Have a couple slides each for what constitutes on-duty time, explain the 11, 14, 10, 8, 60/70 hour rules in simple language. The way that book is written will have your head spinning!NavigatorWife and justa_driver Thank this. -
Thanks everyone! JJ Keller is definitely on the list and once the e-log compliance date nears we'll be all over that too but till then we gotta keep cost down. A PP seems easy enough and I could make it somewhat interactive too.

Really doesn't matter what course you use. Nobody's going to listen anyway.justa_driver Thanks this.

I corrected it. I omitted the 3 in Part 395. This is the Official Federal Regulations concerning HOS and is free on the internet.

They might listen, but really understanding it takes a lot of time- HOS takes a lot of getting used to, especially when different companies tell it a different way.lol
