Actually I was sitting in my usaul spot here a couple months ago grilling when this guy came truckin across the lot ..walked on by me headed for that thick brush where the signs are posted now .
I hollered at him " where the hell are you going ?" And he said for a walk ...I'm no snake expert but after I explained why that isn't probably a great place for a stroll he decided the pavement was safer .
The guy was from England lol

Well even then that kids parents need to teach him better or put his butt on a leash. If he don't know about that crap then he got no business roaming around alone.

I had a student with me when I took the pic above. He's an Israeli. He was astonished that someone would need to be warned that scorpions and rattlesnakes reside in the desert.

My response: "Welcome to America, Comrade."

Now that I think about it when I was a kid I was fascinated by snakes and read everything I could grab on them which is probably why I understand something about they're habitat ..I grew up in north Dakota lol

Laredo is great rattle snake country! If you're ever looking to kill time, go to Sweetwater for the annual rattlesnake roundup. You'll see thousands being brought in, and they actually taste pretty good. My brother used to go out there to collect venom for UNT, he dragged me along when I was about 16
