Alright been driving 3.5 years. Love it leased a freightliner and became an owner operator 5 months ago.
Currently driving a cascadia evolution 2014. Good solid truck 8.8 mpgs. Have had no issues thus far.
It rides like a log wagon though.
Spoke to a Pete owner said he was getting that kind of mileage as well but was a more comfortable ride.
Plus a 13 speed and no problems pulling hills.
So my lease on this truck comes up to be renewed this Jan. I can keep this truck or I can upgrade.
My question after doing some research on the Pete's. Are the 579 as reliable and do they get that upper 8 mpgs? Pulling 53 foot vans.
Don't want a truck that needs to be handled by a mechanic all the time unless for basic maintenance on which I do not skimp and only go for the best of everything as this truck is my livelihood.
Also I have only driven a freight shaker quite comfortable with them.
But if I am going to do this, be out on the road 90% of the year. Then I want a comfortable time when on the road and must be dependable.
So you pete guys what's your take on the 579 trucks, are they really that nice, efficient and dependable?
Thank you for your time helping a newbie trucker.

As of right now I have a 2017 579 . I am getting 7.7 mpg on average over the past 24,696 miles usually doing between 61-64 mph in a 64 mph governed truck right now. Usually am pulling extremely heavy loads where overall I'm 78500-79800.
Truck comfort is nice but in all honesty, cascadias have a better setup for life on the road with more room for microwave and all that stuff. -
8.8 is really good for the average. I would stick.

I not a Pete guy but my first Volvo 780 arrived yesterday. I will let you know about it.
