I was in my early 20s once as well. I almost died from doing stupud #### like that

 

well cut the cord and let him go. he has to grow up, sooner or later. but in my opinion, once (or several times in your case) burnt, is many times learnt, and do not hire him to drive for you, should you become an o/o in the future. he will think he's got it "made in the shade" and re-start his crap all over again, eating heavily into your profits, which will be hard to earn for the first few years.

let him be on his own, and maybe he will straighen out, but if not, at least you don;t have to carry that burden.
