I have just finished my process of signing with Landstar, I go for orientation Monday and Tuesday in Jefferson , Ga. They said I would be leased to Landstar Ranger. What is the difference when you lease on and how do they determine which division (Ranger, Inway, Gemini, etc .. ) that you will be in? Just curious. I'm leasing on with my Van, but I've seen lowboys, flats , steps , etc with Ranger too. Thanks
Does anybody know this about Landstar?

Luck of the draw mostly. I heard that which carrier they put you under depends on your CSA score, but who knows. In the bigger picture whichever carrier you lease to, Ranger in your case, will have an intechange agreement with Inway, Gemini, etc., so you can pull loads for any LS agent.
Dave_in_AZ and JLT Thank this. -
It used to be that ranger was dry box, inway was flat and step, ligon was heavy haul and gemini was container. That was in the late 90's and 2000's. might have changed
