600 miles in a 24hr period isn't hard... I've had 62mph trucks before. I make it point to make a 5min stop on every even hour, just to do a quick walk around/stretch/pee.

Road construction everywhere, dont have enough power,to pass a turtle.
Stuck in the slow lane, while every pos,on the road,is passing you, like your standing still.
Granny enters highway, slow down, and let granny merge, same goes for uhaul trailers etc, stuck in the right lane all day long.
To top it off,my auto wont keep 62 on cruise, loves to climb grades in 12th gear, safety nazis have manual locked out,If I downshift, truck remains in the chosen gear for 5 seconds..retarded! -
Ive been in the end of the dispatch/planning department before I became a truck driver.
From what I know, if you ask a receiver for a thursday appt, you wont get one. So you send the receiver an email back saying "ok", driver will be there on Mon when you know #### well that a driver has 2 stops in another state thay day.
So The above is scenario A. Now the receiver will charge the shipper/carrier late fees, like $300 late feel and penalize the driver. In the end, the shipper will charge the receiver $2000 a pallet for the 10 pallets delivered.
Scenario B, shipper doesnt get to sell anything and make $0.
Do you see what im saying? A driver's log books has to make sense. But there is no entity governing "logistics" and make it look like they make sense.
I can go on forever explaining things like dummy loads. This is just the sad reality of the game. Drivers have no control of it. Tbh, do I think shippers/carriers/receivers do it on purpose? Absolutely not. To make a sale with 0% loss and 100% profit, is what they aim for. -
Ive run JBH as company and I do not do multi stops. Nor do I load on fridays unless it is to one of the coasts by monday.
JBH pays to satellite the moment you are loaded on that 5th wheel. Not a moment before.
Now, you are a O/O. I would think you charge the shipper some money bill him for being late. If he wont load on time at 3 then he should get billed. -
Jb hunts local drivers get paid thrash what i heard here in houston tx thats what i heard
-
What is thrash?
Local final mile here is $55K / yr.
Intermodal is near $68/yr.
Final mile is day cab, Intermodal sometimes a night or 2 out.
Hasn't been an opening in 6 months. -
Isn't it up to the O/O to have issues like detention taken care of before accepting the load?
I understand the frustration here but I don't see why the blame falls on JB...personally I would have had to know if my last stop was open on Saturday before accepting the load...and I f the answer was no how am I getting compensated for my babysitting?
If I don't like the answers I book something else.Bo Hunt and mathematrucker Thank this. -
If the load was scheduled for pickup at 3 am and i was told it would not be ready until ? am, i think i would be on the phone with the dispatch office immediately, not after the check was short.
Bo Hunt Thanks this.
