Show Some Respect...

Yeah... you shouldn't even have to say anything. It's common sense... people should be respectful. I bet they wouldn't like it if someone threw trash on their property.

 

Go to some of these driver's houses..........
Go look at the bathroom especially, peel n stick floor tiles coming up with water ridden adhesive displaying mold and decay. Toilets stained with Pi$$... Showers with soap scum and mildewed walls.,
Kitchen- Dirty Dishes with crusted on Food....Stove with Food particles everywhere, And a Boars Head saying "What's for Dinner" Perched up high on the Wall with a fork and knife in its hooves..

Go to Liviing room.... There sits "Betty" with her Winston 100's soft Packs hoarding up the coffee table ,4 ash trays full of butts.. And candy wrappers in an empty candy dish.

Up to the bedrooms- Mattresses on the Floor.......Clothes everywhere(Clean and dirty) and a Dart Board with Coors Light stamped on it hanging proudly in front of the master bedroom

To the Garage- Boxes of everything and anything sitting pretty in Both vehicle bays while the poor cars (Which run periodically) are tamed to feel the dirt and Grass

 

When I was in CRST training school. Some of us were practicing backing on an actual college parking on the weekends. We were unable to use bathrooms there, becouse of just one dirt bag. He managed to smear #### all over bathroom walls and mirrors. So, this kind of stuff doesn't even surprise me.

 

Remember my point about how the general public have this perception of old stinky truckers. I wish truckers would change. I mean I am clean, dress well and maintain good personal hygiene and wish that all truckers did. Instead of dressing well/decent they are dressed to be mistaken for the homeless guy peeing behind the trailer.

 

It's common when you have a unwashed mass of humanity. And not enough of them care enough to be clean.

The Industry would be better served to consider installing urinals for men and women inside the sleeper with a compound created to sanitize and clean it out regularly as they do on boats and other situations. It does not require very much space to do it. Essentially a bathroom in the sleeper. Then it will be on them to keep it clean.

To this day Im betting Orientation of new drivers and schools fail the driver by failing to educate people on the need for hygiene. Ours spoke of sexual illnesses when you play with dirty people along 95, never mind the spread of same to 85, 75 and other many places over the years.

Yes I share your anguish but I also hold the schools, companies and truckstops responsible for enabling the problem that a large percentage of people are permitted to be slopping and dirty if not outright infectious by behavior such as leaving piss bottles. No wonder the Industry has the image it has.

 

Reminds me of last Friday nite ..I camped next to a landstar van driver at the quik trip in oak Grove mo.
When I backed out sat morn the area next to his driver's door looked like a dam landfill ...chicken bones and crap spread from hell to breakfast.

 

Good luck with the schools and companies. I think the issue of cleanliness begins well before.

And we used to get "Good" Beatings.. Raised us Right, To Respect AND to accept responsibility, Unlike society of Today.

I remember in the early 70's.... on the Way to school, (cause of course we walked), You Could hear all the Screaming Kids my age getting their ##### Blistered By mom and dad at their house Before School started, Even with the Windows Closed.

No wonder why kids are the way they are today, Throw them an I-pod a laptop and Zombify em.

 

Amen ...and it wasn't dad ya feared at my house ..it was mom !!!! Lol
