Almost every time I've done that so far the shipper wants to discount the brokers part off of it.
One load for instance Mercer had it posted for XXX dollars, shipper offered me less direct on it.
Then finally met Mercers rate. main reason I move for them is they have semi regular 35 mile short run pays me
400 for 3 hours and I live 20 miles from plant.
Hate the rate

That I would love to see, I have a hard time believing $100,000 can be maintained over 2 years at $2 a mileRuthless Thanks this.
-
Are you suggesting that 2 bucks a mile is not a profitable rate? He didn't say he nets a hundred grand, he said he has maintained that in amount in savings.bzinger and nonsense007 Thank this.

It totally can be done... the question is, is there a business account and a personal account and how much is being drawn as driver pay and is that included in the 100k rainy day fund.
-
Business and personal accounts are separate.
-
I'd say you are doing extremely well if your business account has 100k+ even after drawing a healthy salary out of it. On 2 years. If you have no payments and very low repair bills I can see how it can be done.
-
I keep up with repairs if there are any, I try to get my truck in the shop every 2 weeks, I use to drop my truck off every week.
DUNE-T Thanks this. -
I haven't bought any chrome or lights since I've bought my truck...but thinking about changing the bumper.

Good luck today those of you booking spot loads today. Don't forget if you are in a half way decent market and getting incoming calls from freight brokers today is the last day of the second quarter. There are 4 days out of the year when you can almost always count on booking over the top stellar rates on short or long miles and today is one of them. With some of these people they will have very deep pockets indeed so be very aggressive on rates no matter what they say.
People moving some general freight Coca Cola product, or Pepsi Logistics, bottled water if any of you are pulling a box - these products are in very high demand right now, especially down south, for the big push into July 4th weekend. And these companies will be paying #### near anything to move leftover loads late this afternoon. Just a little encouragement for the ones who are new to this. You drivers that have been at it a few years know what's up.Last edited: Jun 30, 2016
