    I haven't been 2 months from having my torn shoulder muscle and now have a cartilage tear on my ribs.

    Hm. That's a interesting problem.

    I wonder if that rib tear is associated with the same shoulder? Maybe you are trying to use accessory muscles to work around....

    Accessory muscles lie near your lungs downwards to the bottom of your cage, should you fail to breathe normally due to injury or shock, you use your rib muscles as a last resort to breathe until they eventually tire and they intubate you.
