Hate the rate

It spills over for us north of the border too....

But I am having a BBQ and playing golf tomorrow and through the weekend. Everyone else, gouge gouge gouge!

 

Here's a sample of some dry van rates from an email blast on loads picking up today. These are the target rates of course so that is, as always, negotiable.

 

Rollin coal have you been doing ok since f2f split? Are those rates what guys are doing the loads for? Or are they pulling them for half that price on average

 

I've been doing just fine, still trucking, still booking spot loads, thanks for asking. That's a broker email blast. They put the rates on those loads and those are the rates that you can call them up and book the load for without haggling if you think the rate is ok. People on the email list are booking those loads for the offered rate or even negotiating more in some cases. Sometimes when those loads are posted on the load boards they don't always have the rate listed. So who knows what rate gets them covered if guys book them from a load board without a posted rate?

 

At least your doing alright. I haven't done the spot market thing since February, and it wasn't a happy go around coming out of Florida. I did fine but it was pulling teeth to get anything decent. Hopefully guys will be able to ride it out till things turn around. Or who knows maybe they won't. Just have to stick with what works.

 

I remember when you did that trip. I don't go to Florida hardly ever.

 

Yeah, I do that strictly as a vacation run. Usually during the winter to polish the truck and trailer and to keep my sanity. Unfortunately, besides getting my truck clean and shiny, it just gets me depressed to see what trucking has fallen too.
