My brain froze and I got cheated out of my ice cream....
We know a typical truck/sleeper and 53' trailer has a gvw of 80,000 loaded, what about empty?
We also know the height at 13'6", what about total length and width?

Well, it's a can of worms.
Let's see. A empty century weighs approximately 17,000 tare, a empty reefer trailer, a great dane will be around 14000 ish, call it 31,000 then you add about a ton of fuel. 33,000 Throw in 47000 into the box and presto 80,000 oh wait. two drivers plus stuff. That's 500 pounds more at least. 1000 is closer to our tare.
102 inches wide. Or was it 104.. ack!!!! 96 inches for the older trucks.
53 foot was for volume like toilet paper. or... 24 pallets of something that totals 46000.
Now I present you a Volvo, Mid sleeper from 1994, M11 engine it's lighter than the century and a Ravens aluminum covered wagon can scale (And did once or twice with me) legally a 52,000 pound coil. Barely.
Containers? Ive grossed 135K or more, which happened to be the limits of the one scale I broke in Virginia one bad day. Permits common for 99K But was laughed at while stacks of tickets were issued. This is on a little 1964 mack with a 40 foot box..... gross weights in those little ones is around 77200 I think hence the old 70's era laws signage on state routes for that amount. -
Scale your truck and trailer with full tanks deadhead. That's the only way to know.
I run a fair amount of brokered loads, when the one important question is, "How much can you carry?" Most heavy broker loads for a flatbed are listed at 48K lbs. I can do 47.4K and I tell the broker up front.
If you are pulling different trailers all the time then it will vary. -
Width is 102" and yes, length will vary depending on the tractor pulling the van.

If Truck A has 20 tons of feathers and Truck B has 40,000 pounds of bricks. Both leave from Albuquerque and both average 68 MPH. Which truck will arrive in Barstow first?
tscottme Thanks this. -
Probably not the one headed to Detroit, therefore it would be the OTHER one.

Two drivers plus stuff at 500lbs what year is this? It's the age of Fatboys man. I weigh 190 at 5'6". One guy is closer to 350 max if he only brings 1 giant suitcase of cloths and a laptop.

I recall the Owens Corning plant up in Kearny NJ trying to give people loads north of 53k.
They'd always ask if I wanted to take a pallet off. That depended on what trailer I had that day. -
I am sorry this seems funny, but nobody seems to be answering the questiom....
