Well, if it is built by man, it is going to have some inherent problems. One thing that I see, and this article does address this,
I question whether or not we, as a society, are intelligent enough to use these so called "self driving" vehicles. Hell, we aren't even intelligent enough to put down the darn phone while we drive!
I'd also like to know how fast the decedent was driving, and what the speed limit was there. Also, what other conditions may have played into it.
Did the trucker just screw up and misjudge the time he had to make the turn? Is there a blind curve or hill at that location?
They are always quick to blame the trucker, but never give the real information.

Actually the Tesla isn't a self driving car anymore than a car with cruse is a self driving car. It has some aids for driving assistance like radar and cruse and such but it's not meat to be a "set auto drive" and fall asleep. They do need to come up with better marketing and maby a new term like drive assisted instead of auto drive or something as too many do believe it is self driving.

P.S. Tesla always blames someone else (usually the driver) when something happens, they never take responsibility no matter how obvious it 's their fault.

Isn't that the way with all companies, particularly vehicle manufacturers?
What really Frost's my nuts, are the commercials from 4WD makers that lead stupid people to believe they really can "go anywhere."

So the truck pulled out in front of the car. Seeing as how the car had the right of way the truck driver is at fault.
That was a joke. The car will only go so far without your input. So if you did try to sleep while it drove it would continue to beep and warn you then slowly come to a complete stop. And yes like any new technology it's not going to work perfectly from the start. However as long as we can reduce accidents from the current rate it's still a win.

Maybe but I'm just going threw what I'm seeing search up new cars coming. All cars will be self driving unless u get $100k sports car. If its about safety and conveiance then y are tobacco companies going strong still? Its all about control not nesscary "safety" they will eventually have a gun control law pretty soon also.

Convening a Kangaroo Court are we?

You're mistaken, the Tesla did not have right of way. Florida law states who must yield right of way, not who has it. Some states have specific laws stating that a vehicle exceeding the posted speed limit must aways yield right of way. Many have effectively the same rule through judicial recognition.

Since the crash is still under investigation, we don't know the specifics of the crash.
