How true! Some of the worst garbage out here. I run Calgary to Vancouver, and I can't believe the crap that is allowed to drive trucks.

We have driving simulators for periodic training sessions and I witnessed one of our "New Canadians" actually jackknife the "truck" at 50kph if I remember right. This was during a "skid pad" simulation. Straight ahead driving. Easy as pie. We were told to run at 50 for one run and 80 for another. I actually managed to keep it from going bad at 80, to my surprise, and to some others in the class. One other actually kept the truck straight and in his lane at 80. I took a little more room to keep it straight.

I didn't even hear about the pileup they mention in the article. Major hwy closed anywhere near Toronto? Just another day of the week... I wonder how exactly it went down.

Been there, done that! Just pisses off one of our company drivers and I do hear from him about it. Glad I can get away from that pretty easily. Company guys are limited to 99kph while I can do 112 if I wanted.

Then you get the ones doing 50 with a little ice on the road.

I'm all for being prudent and safe, but come on!

I was stuck doing 60 all the way through Jasper yesterday. Passed the guy and the moment we hit the BC park gate he blew past me at about 130. I hate driving through Jasper with a passion. Too many stupid tourists this time of year. Mount Robson's another bad spot. I guess standing in the middle of the highway offers the best view?

I find highway 1 way worse than going up highway 5 to Edmonton. Thankfully I don't do it a whole lot lol but back that way on Sunday unfortunately again... And yea, it's even worse in the winter on Rogers pass. They go so slow it's a wonder they don't spin themselves out!

Ive had so many close calls of people just pulling out from the side of the road in front of me going threw there. Or people slamming on there brakes to pull over to take a picture of an animal. I go by with the air horn on hoping I scare the animals there trying to take a picture of haha.

Or the ones who crawl in the two lane sections, then race through the passing areas.

One thing I really like about my run is that I will sometimes get a really light load. 5000lbs or under. Love blowing by someone who's out to screw around an cause issues.

    uncleal13 and nate980 Thank this.
