Carry a starters pistol with you. That'll do it!

Couple winters ago I was headed south from the Aurora site north of Fort Mac. I'm running a 5500 GMC grossed out at about 11,000 kg. Roads were decent but I could understand an average driver being a bit cautious. Got stuck behind this one clown who would run 95 km/h but the moment there was oncoming traffic or a curve, 45 km/h. Tried to pass him but the old Dmax just didn't have enough ponies to catch up each time it was clear and he'd step on it. Finally got around him when the highway split at Mildred lake and I see he's talking on the phone. My co-worker whips out the phone and reports him for unsafe driving.

I went through there one day and a tanker came through at a slow crawl, horn blarring and gently nudging the big horn sheep off the highway with the bumper.

I bet he bumped it up to 100+ on the passing lane though... Classic jerkoffs

Sure hope that in this new training program that they make sure the trainees can at least speak English or French. Pretty hard to read the road signs when you can't speak either.

IDK if they've started pushing that in driver training in Alberta but most safety training companies here have already stated that if you can not communicate effectively in English/French, they will not pass you. Translators are not even allowed in the classrooms anymore.

They pay for it, most of them don't even do the road test, just pay $$$$$
