Passed general knowledge and air brakes, but missed combination by 1 question. I was pissed, so I didn't ask this question. I live in Georgia and was wondering if I have to retake all 3 tests over or just that one? Also, do I have to $45 again?

Thought I could retake the failed test immediately, but said I have to wait until Tuesday.

Should just be the one test you failed. The fee covers 3 trys I believe.

in my state, we have to repay the testing fee for the failed test. i think it's $11.50?

bring cash or a blank check with you when you go back.

here too, it is a 5 day wait till a test can be retaken.

Georgia will have records of what you passed and failed. All you'll have to take is the one you failed. Back when I got my CDL there, you could go back the next day and retake it, of course that was 1992 when they started the cdl stuff. I failed HazMat the first time. It was a Class 5 before that and a Chauffers before that.

Here in MS you can retake the next business day and I'm not sure about the fee but you only have to take the one you failed

Man, Virginia is cheap. $3 for the test. If you fail the General Knowledge, you can't take the other two. If you pass the General Knowledge, you can take a shot at Air Brakes and Combination.

You're allowed to retake the written test 24 hours after failing it, whichever you fail, and it'll cost you another $3.

That $3 will cover as many written tests as you want to take. I took my Hazmat and Tanker tests while I was at it, didn't cost me any extra.

If you took it on a touch screen you can take it right again. No extra fee.

I copied this from the Georgia CDL info site
I am assuming the $35.00 application fee plus the $10.00 permit fee is where the $45.00 comes from
It looks like it'll cost you $10.00 to retake the test

Application and manuals for a commercial drivers license (CDL) may be obtained at the Customer Service Centers. Complete the application; the application fee is $35.00. Fees are waived for veterans and school bus drivers who present the proper documentation. To apply, submit the completed application and $35.00 fee to any Customer Service Center (except Jackson) and take the required written knowledge exams. The $10 permit fee is paid prior to taking the knowledge exams. If all exams are passed, the $10 fee pays for the instructional permit. If any of the exams are not passed, the $10 fee is retained as a testing fee. The $10 permit fee would be paid again at the next test attempt.

Yea thats what I liked about getting a license there. A Veteran's License was free. All I had to pay was .50 cents for the picture and before cdl came out, you didnt have to have a picture on it if you didnt want one. lol
