If you find an oos trailer, then send in the report a trailer defect macro. This gets sent to sem so they are aware of it and can get it fixed.

Funny you mention this. I got to Seville this morning to drop a relay. I couldn't find any empties and was going to wind up being late for my pickup down the road if I hung around any longer. I wound up running into the driver who was picking up my relay and as luck would have it, he brought in an empty. Could it really be this easy? Yea right. This thing had the same sized hole clear through the floor. It looked exactly like a forklift tire went through it.
I saw it the second I opened the door. I'm sure most of you have pulled a IP load once or twice before. You know they won't accept a trailer with a wet boot mark in it, let alone one with a bloody 12"-14" hole in the floor. So now I'm pissed off. I asked the guy what's with the hole, and if someone else was picking it up to get fixed. He claimed he never saw the hole. Turns out, he never even opened the doors.
How do you pick up a trailer and not take a peek to make sure nothing is inside? Or was he just hoping Noone would notice the daylight coming through the bottom of the trailer. I wound up finding an empty that was backed so far into the bushes that I had to hook to it to check if it was sealed. I guess this is another way that drivers are "securing" their empties. It was also missing the turn signal/marker lamp on the left skirt and had no seals on the glad hands. Newish trailer too. I popped in the missing parts from my toolbox and off I went to my pickup. Oh and you're darned right I messaged in about it.mickeyrat Thanks this. -
Did you also send in the trailer defect macro? Report it to claims?

Around this time last year I sat around waiting at the west memphis tank wash for a relay to show up. The guy finally shows up 5 hours late, claiming it was raining and he didn't feel safe driving... anyway, i watch him walk around, hammer in hand and do a "post trip" He marks it off no defects and proceeds to drive over and hook to an empty. i pull up, hook and walk around and what do i find ? the RRI tire completely blown to ####. mudflap is missing and a few lights.
i walk over and ask whats up and why he couldn't stop at the OC he passed a couple miles down the road and have it repaired and he claims he didn't know about it... let him know i watched him walk around the trailer and he was full of ####, he says "so that's what that loud explosion i heard about an hour ago was"mindes Thanks this. -
No, the DBL I talked with didn't mention it and I totally forgot. I admit I'm horrible with remembering to send in macros.

Unless you call it in to them its the only way SEM will get the info and location.
