    My company states this. I'm only going by what they state and they are very adamant about it. They base their reasoning off of what they get out of the interpretation manual. Now I'm not sure how often they change their manuals but they swear that is the current ruling

    When calculating the aggregate working load limit of all direct tiedowns count 100% of the tiedown working load limit for each tiedown attached to both sides of the vehicle, as shown in Figure #1, and 50% of the working load limit for each tiedown attached to only one side of the vehicle, as shown in Figure #2.

    I was under the same understanding until some of the guys on this site clued me in.

    The problem is there are so many contradictions. There was a similar argument made for another that was basically told i was a ####in idiot because a dot officer use his phone to cite law off the website but a poster here stated he was wrong because the book says otherwise, nevermind the website was shown as being more updated over the book. The rules don't matter, the ball is on the court of the officer on the side of the road because you aren't going to argue anything on the side of the road
