Let's just say I have a lot of experience driving trucks. Since about 1973 been hauling freight. Been everywhere in the USA....spent a lot of time on the road away from a "regular job"....and even helped out a lot of guys out there who got stuck with a broken truck. But then, I have net a few ones that comes along and cant teach them the truth....they must to learn it the hard way.
Adios Amigo! -
Take it easy dude
just having some fun with you
DustyRoad Thanks this. -
Where you think your gonna go in the left lane? Everyone is waiting for the 4-wheeler to pass the big truck. They are using it a a reference so they can diddle with the cell phone or are too afraid to pass. Your stuck anyway.

Most of the guys have less than a year or 2 of experience, and are new drivers, and you want them to do 70 MPH or higher on the Interstate. Give me a break. in a 40 ton vehicle no less, that stops in 600 feet loaded.
They have to get experience somewhere and doing 55 gives them that.
That would be like giving a 16 year old the keys to your POV after drivers safety class and getting their license and saying "oh go do 75 MPH on the interstate".
Personally I think all new drivers should have governers on their trucks for the 1st 5 years, so they can gain some experience, before they can put their Big boy pants on.
I think due to the nbr of Truck related accidents we drivers are going to see mandated speed limiters and anti collision devices. Granted, ALOT of the accidents are caused by/due to 4 wheeleers, but take a look at most pile-ups on the freeways, you will find Big rigs right in the middle.DustyRoad and FullMetalJacket Thank this. -
West of I-35.....nothing but open roads and big Sky between Dallas and Blythe
OR I-80 between Chicago and Reno....
What about I-90 & I-94....LA Crosse to Spokane...
The Big Dogs.....run hard and fast.
Highway101 Thanks this. -
Thanks for sharing.

Still we get them here in NV on I-80 that run off the road, no reason at all, or maybe dodging a coyote. If your experienced then you deserve to run hard and fast. You would know not try an dodge a coyote or even a deer. Less experienced drives will try and dodge them.DustyRoad Thanks this.

Just because a vehicle is capable of going a certain speed doesn't mean you HAVE to go that speed. Just because a place has a certain speed limit doesn't mean you HAVE to go that speed.
Example, some places is Texas has a speed limit of 85mph. Would you REALLY feel comfortable driving a 70' long 80,000 lb articulated pinto at 85mph in potentially windy conditions.
If you really want a driving and delivery job where you can freely drive as fast as your vehicle allows; you need to get a pizza delivery job.redoctober83 and stayinback Thank this.
