That place is crazy. I received a log violation there is few years ago. It was a misdemeanor too. I fought it. They wanted me to give ma a year's probation(I'm like your crazy). That is when gps tracking worked it was a company truck. I guess because I lived in Pennsylvania they thought I would accept. They dropped the day before the court appearance. If possible do want you can. I had TVC legal service and they really helped me on a couple of situations. I hope the best for you.

 

Seatbelt are just as bad as 15 over. I too have to ask why were you not wearing it. This is not a gray area crime either you had it on or not.

If you are a company driver it may cost you your job depending on the company and the safety division.

 

Getting one while driving a CMV up the game I suppose.

 

At some companies it is 1 or 2 warnings then the next you are done.

 

There was a guy at work that got torn apart after not having his booster down. He had like something like 14 violations after they DOT'd him, besides the over weight for not having the booster down. He was looking at an almost $10,000 fine.
Appeared ( with proof of corrections ).
Think he paid $300.
As far as the misdemeanor goes, I don't know. I do know our state is very tough on safety violations. That's why in a CMV in Arizona you turn right, from the inside lane only.
And they hate people from California, everybody knows that.

 

I don't make the laws. I am not sure but not wearing it in a CMV is another monster.
