Do you have the same start time and end time every day and is the 2 days off really 2 days or 1 and a half?

You take your 10 hour break and start when that is over. Your day is over when you stop. Sometimes that is determined by where you can lay-over. Thus, there is not an exact start and stop time. You are the Captain of your own ship, and make your own decisions.
When you work a 5/2, you work 5 days, and get home on your 5th day. This then gives you a full 2+ days off every single week. They do have extended weeks when it is very busy. This does not entail a lot of weeks. When you extend your week, you work into the 6th day to use all 70 of your available hours, or as many as able. When there are extended weeks, you get 1.5-1.75 days off.
If you go on a 6/2 like my husband has, you work about 5.5 days. That works you through your 70 hours, or as close as you can. You then have 2.5 days off.
There are also 6/3 programs, 5/2 5/3 programs, and many others. How quickly you can get on a program (most start on a 5/2) is different based on the DC.georgear1084 and noninetofive Thank this. -
There are many different plans available, depending on where you are. You need to talk to HR about the options.
If you are in a union job at this time, the Walmart insurance will not compare. If not, it will depend on what you are paying and which plan you go with. Only you can make the decision if the switch to Walmart Transportation is a good one. Some folks who work union jobs, and have families with a lot of medical needs stay where they are even though they would love to have the work environment and stability that Walmart offers.
Basically, if you are getting similar pay and use a lot of medical, the switch may not be worth it at this time. If your pay is less, and you are not using a lot of medical except maybe prescriptions................ then it may be worth it. You have to weigh all of your specific details to decide. I will say that you will not have any idea of the culture difference, or the respect difference until you are working here. You can think you will, but you have no idea.
Today my husband was eating catered pulled pork, brisket, pies, sides, and about anything else he could dream of. Basically, he is eating better than we are at home. LOL (yes, I am jealous) If you do take the job, get your uniforms a little large. LOLslim6596 and georgear1084 Thank this. -

You can look at the Walmart pharmacy generic list. They list the prescriptions that are $4 for a month or $10 for 3 months. This is something that Walmart offers everyone. On our health plan, generics are $10 unless Walmart has the lower price. All of my husbands are on the $10 3-month deal (3 prescriptions). One of mine is on the $4 a month deal. One of mine I get the coupon from the manufacturer to pay $25 a month, and that is a $320 prescription.
Anyway, it is something that you can look at.georgear1084 Thanks this. -
