Without a doubt. But as you might have noticed, zippers tend to be one in,one out. If theres enaugh space for 1 car to fit before the lane closes, theres always that idiot who pushes it, bringing everone to a stop.
-
Not to mention how often zippers either get stuck, or completely broke.....

I had a bit of a chuckle, thinking of this thread today. I was headed northbound on I-35 from Dallas to OKC. Two construction zones, but the first wasn't too bad.
As I approached the second there was a lookey loo backup with three 4 wheelers exchanging information no doubt due to anal remora syndrome. Then with three miles to the merge it slowed to a crawl.
Two of Oklahoma's finest were creeping up in the passing lane with their bubble gum machines going. The first pulled alongside me and rolled down his window, "Can you get into the left lane and run a blockade with that flatbed in front of you? We're going to clear the left lane."
I pulled hard left behind the second trooper and caught up to the Peterbilt in front, rolled down my window and informed him of our official deputized duties. He smiled.
We ran a perfect blockade for three miles, with him laying slightly back of me. Four cars ended up sniffing my butt all the way to the merge, but we timed the blockade to speed up and merge so the sniffers merged behind the Pete.
Felt good to help our finest. Traffic was moving nicely and other than the pack of sniffers there wasn't anyone in the left lane for a mile back of us.scottied67 and tucker Thank this. -
@Lepton1 .. you're saying cops hailed you down to roadblock Merge Monkeys?
-
Yeah, that's a first for me. They ran the entire left lane, clearing it for three miles. By the time we approached the actual merge traffic was moving 40 mph. Mr. Pete and I timed our acceleration to keep the last 4 merge monkeys behind him.
Other than those merge monkeys nobody else was in the left lane for at least a mile to the merge and traffic was moving smoothly. I think another LEO stayed behind to keep everyone honest.
