I believe you. But they told me something different.

I'm moving from another state to take the job and our house isn't built yet.

The state requires two documents showing an in-state address to prove residency before you can get an in-state license, which you're required to do within 90 days of establishing residency.

I can't get a license with an address within 250 miles until the house is built and I can start receiving mail there.

They told me that was fine as long as I updated my current state with my new medical card expiration date.

Maybe because you are building a house, and can prove what you are doing, they will make the exception.

Different circumstances and different DC's are different. :)

Yep. That's why I wrote on my original post on this topic that it may vary from DC to DC and the guy asking the question should ask his DC.

During this process I've learned that the way things are done varies from DC to DC. So, a blanket response about how things are done is not necessarily valid.

When in doubt, ask your DC.

I also remember signing a document that stated that if I did not currently live within 250 miles from the DC, I would move to within 250 miles of the DC.

Or something to that effect. I signed and initialed so much stuff it was almost like closing on a house.

I know the address but the mailbox is not built yet and the post office has not put the address on their delivery schedule. So, I can't receive mail there until the house (and the mailbox) is built and closed.

So, I can't get the two required pieces of documentation to prove residency to the DMV. Thus, can't get my in-state license yet. And probably won't be able to do so until after I start work.

Not my first rodeo with the whole moving and building a house thing as I was in the military. :)

I can make that statement because I know for a fact walmart does not offer insurance anywhere close to as good as the teamsters insurance. My wife is a type one diabetic since she was 2 years old and I would have gone broke working at walmart. She is a cashier at walmart in the pharmacy and even the pharmacist will tell u the insurance stinks. I also have no copay for my insurance.

I'm not saying walmart truck driving is a bad job just wish they had better insurance because if they did I might be driving there. I just enjoy reading thus post. I have been reading it for about 2 years now, ever since I turned down the job in woodland. Drive safe

Read my post again. Did I say our insurance was the best? No. And your wife works in ONE store and has knowledge of insurance in ONE location. Read the part where I say it varies across the country.
