I went to Beaufort county community college just outside the city of little Washington.Great equipment and instructors and they make sure you know how to set up and back and they do 3rd person dot so you test out with them and take a sealed envelope to the dmv and get your CDL.

JCCC there in Smithfield is one of the best driving schools in any state. Good luck. Old Dominion in Greensboro , pays you to come to school , but may be next year before they have another class? Do yourself a favor , learn a stick .
ncmickey and Lone Ranger 13 Thank this. -
JCCC is running a school at Fort Bragg , for short timers to learn a new trade.

Very good school.
I assume that most schools teach with manual transmissions. You can learn. Truck manual transmissions are a little different from car transmissions, so everyone else is learning how to shift a truck transmission. You can learn how to shift and drive it.
