I am looking into Roehl as well. Does any Roehl drivers know if they have a weekend hometime program (specifically NE regional). I am waiting on response from the recruiter b4 I send in an app. I am also looking at TMC as they have a pretty good hometime comparatively speaking but I am not to sure about flatbedding.

LakeEffect ~ Depends on where you live...if you are by one of the major freight lanes, you can get home every weekend in the NE region.

Cheryl, Thank you. I am located i90 rochester, ny. Hopefully it is a major freight lane for them. I know it is for others.

I went through Roehls RDTC and it was a great experience. Maybe you stay there, maybe you don't, but you cannot beat the training. Marshfield, WI is a great place to be and the resources were top notch and trainers good at what they do and good people too. A GREAT PLACE TO START. Thanks Jason and Brian.
tennmoto, LakeEffect and wb75 Thank this. -
Yanno, Dennis, I heard Darrel (sp?) got out of the training and went back to flatbedding. I was in Philly the other day, thought about giving ya a call.

jtaran06, I know RDTC may make things seem like you're going to be going out exactly when you want, getting home after exactly 10 days, then going back out, but you'd be lucky if it worked out that way. As for Roehl, I'm mostly satisfied, and realize it could be a lot worse. They keep me rolling (as a flatbedder, anyway), but some of these loads are absolutely ridiculous, and the load planners must have too much to deal with because they've been slacking for quite some time. I'm making good money and usually rolling--not trying to discourage you, just trying to give you a real idea of what to expect. My dispatcher works with me on what I want for hometime and is a really nice guy, though it sometimes seems he thinks I'm dumber than a rock. What apartments are you staying in?

hey, just got done with EVO 1. Was out for 14 days and had 2 layovers. was brought home by a regular driver.
Was a great experience. Mostly lumber loads and a Steel King load ( cmoore should be familiar with these). The last loads were a gym floor we took from Iron Mountain to Philly. Then coils back to Gary IN.
Only real advice I can give is relax and invest in some ear plugs. You never know if your trainer will snore.
Good Luck.
