I know alot about how Walmart works. Programs, pay, etc. I almost went there but the insurance would have killed me. I know you get paid mileage, activity, sleeping in truck. Etc. My insurance and premium has changed zero times in 11 years. If anything it got better. I know Walmart is a good job, I just need excellent benefits. Be safe out there

You're right, you can post wherever you want. But another forum might be more appropriate to brag about how great your union job is since this one is about Walmart.

And I wasn't saying that you work for YRC, I neither care nor is it any of my business where you work, I was merely citing that company as one in the trucking industry that has experienced financial struggles partly due to their extremely high labor costs as a result of being a union shop.

There are many other examples in other industries, but YRC immediately came to mind because they're in our industry.

I'm glad you're happy with your job and its benefits. Good for you.

I was merely suggesting that perhaps you'd be better off on another forum where you can brag about your job to your heart's content instead of on this one which is focused on a company for which you've never worked and don't plan to ever do so.

In other words, aside from reading a benefits description, which I'm sure most of the rest of us have already read, you have ZERO experience with Walmart and its insurance. So, with all due respect, your opinion is of little value on a forum dedicated to a company for which you've never worked and have no plans to ever do so.

This is my final response to you. I wish you all the best.

    Be safe.

Don't be so hard on him. It's hard posting with your shop steward looking over your shoulder.

I was thinking about working at Walmart about 2 years ago. I went through all of the process and got offered a job. Then I looked at the insurance and wanted to think about it and go home and talk to my wife, but Walmart and one of there many policies said I had to make a decision right then and there. So I did. LOL

How long did it take from your employment application to where you are now?
