@joesmoothdog . . . . here it is~ omg i forgot this song, totally. flashback Friday a day late, LoL.
"Its just a sign of the times
Going forward in reverse...
Still these were our first,
It's just a Hand in the Bush,
In the Bush . . . "
Wife reminded me, LoL!~
16 y/o daughter said one of her 'modern' bands uses that phrase as well, but I have NO idea~!
ps: it's 'No More Tears' dangit...... -
To answer the question in the title: No
Many many years ago I was told "Son, if you can't back it up, don't drive it forward"
Drivers going NE Regional will tell you that as soon as you thought you've been in the worst backup warehouse you've ever been...you'll be at another.
If you're on the wrong street in Jersey City and hafta back up a block on a skinny street through a traffic intersection, you gotta do what you gotta do.
If you jack it in around cars to a skinny dock in a small parking lot, you know the drill.
And yup, when you come across dockzilla, you gotta be able to imagine where your tandems need to travel to hit it square.
If you deliver on Tonnelle Ave (US 1) in N Bergen after 0600 and need to block the road with horns blaring, screaming drivers and cars zooming behind you, you gotta buck it up and get it done.
Backing is not a bad habit. It's a necessity and practice may not make perfect, but it helps. -
Look in the mirror and tell me what do you seee is it a stranger is your liiiffeee inn dannggeerrr.
Noo more tears!
I like that song. Didn't even look that up.
Haven't heard it in awhile.FerrissWheel and G13Tomcat Thank this. -
The less you think about it the better off you are.Backing takes practice and lots of it.As long as no other vehicles are around or beside you then back to your heart's content, whatever works to line yourself up.

@CargoWahgo dang good, man!!!!
-
ps: daughter just told me how 'tupid I am; her song is by a band, Falling in Reverse.....ouch. Wasn't a song, but a band; something about Nikki Six and such.. GOD I feel OLD~!!!
Glad she's outta the 'goth' theme from 2 years ago, and listens to "good music" now~!!! -
I just think these young pups have it so much easier then we did. When I started all the docks had sensors on them which let the entire building dodge your trailer. You would back up and find out the building had moved three to seven feet left or right. They wouldn't hold still. I think Congress outlawed them because now they just stand there and wait for me.
