Just curious to know . cuz I see a lot of truck down the road with penske, Ryder, Nextran unit # then the company name that operate the unit. How that work? Can a single guys or two good partner with good or great credit start with one truck then start a fleet by going full lease or its impossible to do ?

I read on here that places like Penske only rent to "established" trucking companies. Meaning a guy with a CDL can't just walk in and rent a unit from them.
brian991219 and Tétkontak Thank this. -
Basically if you are already set up event with single truck you rent or lease from . I'm guessing it will be a lil bit pricey !

If you come up with a business plan that makes good sense to an investor, you can do anything.

Most companies running lease trucks are in manufacturing or delivering their own product type thing. They are making their money somewhere else and trucks are a necessary evil.
You normally have to have a very good line of credit to lease one. Renting is a little easier but more expensive.
Does not normally pencil out for trucking companies but I have seen some exceptions. 1st: Make deals on trucks that other companies broke lease or trucks up for sale. 2nd: Saw a company slip seat trucks and had a team with suit cases waiting at the fuel pump when it came in. They ran about 225,000 miles a year on trucks.
Leasing companies have gotten a lot smarter about not being taken advantage of and controlling their risks.
Last I knew of was $950 per week but I don't recall about mileage charge. Damage, mudflaps and such is extra.Tétkontak Thanks this. -
Right on that but the way I heard the industry is right it will tough to find an investor

I will check it out thanks

I'm thinking if you own a truck and have you llc or inc set up for a few months or years you could just switch over to a full maintenance lease if business wise thing is working out

It is my belief that if you right a plan, and I am giving away this idea for free, for $250,000 investment on a 5 year payout at 17% that you can find investors all day long.
I am not giving away any more information as I still hold all my securities licenses. This is not a offer to buy or sale securities and should not be taken as such. There is always a chance of losses and past performances are not a guarantee of the future. Invest wisely.Tétkontak Thanks this.
