Well Cardinal may have been beat to the punch. A guy local to me offered me a job with round trips to NC and Louisville from my area. $800 base pay, d/h in Louisville and 3 stop in NC $25 per stop. Well kept C15 cat/13 speed, no governer, paper logs. And no it isn't a 1099

Oh the irony. Jb Hunt called, wants me in orientation on the 1st and wants me to go find which truck I want the week before.

    What do you all think?

Honestly, I think you should take your time before making a decision. You've proven to be a hard working, safe driver. Jumping on the opportunity with the guy that's "local" to you sounds great until the freight dries up or his throat is cut by the likes of JB. Now, consider the opportunity with JB...you already work there and you admittedly are unhappy with the insurance costs. Don't you think their ability to be frugal on health insurance will resonate throughout the rest of their business? Consider other options, Man. Just my opinion, only YOU can decide what's best.

As a l/p driver I would find my own insurance and as @Dave_in_AZ has said numerous times regardless of what people think hunt has some good paying freight

Like I said, do what's best for YOU. Just consider ALL options before rushing in to anything. I hate to see a quality driver labeled as a "job hopper", which can happen if you act too quickly on an opportunity and then realize it's not what you expected. Again, just my opinion.

In regards to my insurance example - I personally would wonder if JB's "frugality" would permeate the rest of the business. I'm not familiar with the company at all and it does seem like some folks are genuinely happy there. I tend to be overly cautious about things, though.

No doubt you'll eventually make a decision and find a happy home. Best of luck to you, Driver.

I just hate to bail now considering I've waited this long. Considering if I choose I can go to cardinal if I want later

I would give JB a chance to right your situation then see what happens etc.
