Work truck. I'm having issues keeping it cool on the inside of the truck. Seems like the blower motor isn't blowing real hard. I've been told this is normal for 379s, but I find that hard to believe. However, the other two we have blow the same. Is there a high output blower motor replacement of a fix? Also, its seems to get cooler at a lower engine rpm. Any help is appreciated.

I'm not sure if you have a cabin filter but make sure it's clean and a lot times the evaporator will get build up on it from not shutting down properly (low rpm colder) when almost (1 or 2 miles)home/shut down go ahead and turn a/c off and turn blower on high to dry evaporator.
Sounds like you might need to clean it(Evaporator)also Bosch makes a very good blower motor with a good seal included.blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
on R134a as well as a possible compressor leak, which is why it might be low of Freon. -
When you shut the a/c off while still wet it collects dust and microbial growth on the surface which can make it smell like mildew or musty when you shut it off and first turn it on....
So when the blower is blowing like mad but doesn't put out enough air cabin filter doesn't matter when the air has to pass through it....
If the air is colder at idle than at higher rpm it's either a bad compressor or clogged 1 evaporator 2 condenser -
I don't know about Pete's but KW's have a small $10 resistor that after many years needs replacing. It will cause fan speeds to slow. And/or your blower motor is old and weak. Had to replace both in my sleeper bunk recently. Blows like a tornado now.

How hard is it to change the blower in the dash?
-
Easy, remove glove box boor and glove box,,easy to pull fan
-
Ok simple enough.
-
I'd clean the filter and evaporator and heater core first, and check and make sure no cabin air is escaping at firewall around the heater core and evaporator lines... If that doesn't help I'd replace fan motor and resistor..

Where is the resistor located at?
