Ours started throwing a fit when we shut down for a few hours. The coolant isn't low but goes away after you run it a minute.

If you are slowly losing coolant I would do an oil sample and you may find that the additives in coolant are showing up but not water. The water is burning up in your exhaust because your egr cooler is starting to leak. Find it now before you ruin your DPF filter. If you aren't replacing any coolant and your low coolant warning is coming on randomly it is probably the float inside your expansion tank. When that float goes bad you replace the tank for about $700.00

My 07 W900 w Cat does the same thing, I just know the first start up after sitting for a long period of time it is going to sound the alarm, but after it reaches 180 it shuts off.

I wish ours would go off. just because it drives you crazy. we have sent four thousand dollars trying to fix this thing and so far it hasnt helped. Infact drivers behind us will get on the cb and tell us that we have smoke coming out of our stack and that it stinks. But no one can find whats wrong with it. we drive an 09.

Just had to fix this problem again, had to replace yet another wiring harness. This time it was the harness that the harness coming off of the level sensor plugs into, it appears that the wire connections inside the plugs lose their contact after a while. Jiggling the wires and cleaning the connections helps for a while but eventually replacement is the only way to get the light and warning beeper to stay off.

I'm driving a 2016 T880 w/4500 miles on it. Same exact problem ur having. Low water level warning light comes on, but plenty if water in motor. No faults & no warnings on the dashboard.
Also Trans temp will go up to 200 degrees, but then act like a tachometer when u rev the motor while driving & shifting gears. It goes past 250 degrees, red lite on gauge comes & so does dashboard, about hot temp. Letting off throttle & red need subsides to 200 degrees. Dblframe@gmail.com.

06 PB with same issue: light comes on starts beeping then truck shuts off.replaced the sensor and it worked for a day then back to the same issue..finally replaced the 4 contacts inside the plug at sensor ( 2 of them- C and D- were corroded). Looks like that solved the problem.

I had Volvo when ever I will make right turn ( bobtail only ) truck will give me low or no coolant warning and shuts down the motor , I just took out the wires from sensor and it will go smooth or as soon it shuts down turn is over crank it again ... But I got rid of that 2008 Volvo and bought 06 kenworth
