    What @Chinatown said. I have self-employment in my work history. Companies accept tax forms as verification.

    Thanks for the answers, everyone! I will have W2s and 1099s to verify what I have been doing for the past three years, so that's not a problem. I have never driven a truck in my life.

    You aren't a trucker yet just provide your 10 year employment history and start trucking. Once you start trucking then you should try not to job hop so often.

    Job hopping in the trucking industry is very common. It seems to me that the only people who stay at most companies ( not all companies, but most ) are either ### kissers or too dumb to know that they are getting screwed or just have no ambition to improve their situation, which makes things very difficult on really good drivers who do great work, but have no intention of being run over or taken advantage of by a corrupt company. If you find a good trucking company ( which really no longer exist) to work for where you are satisfied, then hang in to it with a death grip. The crooked trucking companies love drivers who job hop ( they intentionally perpetuate it) because they know that they are very vulnerable and exploit their situation, and they do not care if they leave you hanging and destroy your career, they will chew you up and spit you out just to increase their profits. There are / have been way more crooked companies out there than good honest companies ( there are some good companies) If you can stay at one for a long time it is best, but I have found very few, because I refuse to let a company walk all over me and treat me like an Idiot, we have to stand up to these companies collectively or it will just get worse. But some people will not or cannot because of their individual situations or a lack of backbone. The Trucking industry is no picnic and has a very long way to go when it comes to treating drivers with the respect and appreciation that we deserve- A very long way to go!!!! And let me warn you- recruiters get payed commission and bonus in very many cases and will lie through their teeth and tell you ANYTHING you want to hear to get you in there!! They are trained, skilled, professional liars! I hope that this helps you a little bit! And one more thing to make you aware of- if you will not let a company walk all over you, there is always a desperate student who owes money for trucking school, right behind you that will! The trucking companies and schools know this because they have all joined together to make it this way!

    So your work history is that you weren't working... I still had to account the couple years I opted not to work before coming to driving.

    But different companies. {shrug}

    Well, that sure sound like government speak... One places sounds like all jobs... Another place sounds like only driving jobs...

    No wonder different companies do it differently.

    Mega carriers might not touch you. Those companies suck anyway.
    Smaller ones will.
    They are all different.
