6 gauge copper wire. You tell me. I ran a DX1600v into it with no issues. also ran a DX1000Last edited: Jul 16, 2016
Reason for edit: dx1000 -
This mount did work for a short shaft Wilson 2000 I had laying around, 1.5 swr with out any tuning, didn't go any further as this set up is going to be for 2 meters. I tried it with 2 different 3/8-24 mount 2 meter antennas they didn't do well. Got a couple of NMO mounts all 3 of the NMO base antennas tuned fine 1/2 wave no ground, 5/8 wave base load, 5/8 wave center load. I cannot explain the difference, so more experimentation is in the future. Using the 5/8 wave base load antenna this week height comes in at just under 13ft. The 5/8 wave center load will go about 13'4" so we'll wait and see how trees treat this one this week.
TheDude1969 Thanks this. -
Never ready..Just noticed where your radio was..Just moved mine from there to drivers side..Man its to close..Now when i get home ill have to make up something to get it more centralized..
Sittin in my seat with no air it feels like its in my face..lol..
I will say the move got the pulseing from my sirius to stop,no atatic from my ciggy lighter by the heater ctrls..
In my move i discovered i smooshed my coax to..#### it.. -

Well in moveing my radio from passenger side to drivers side(was to far away to fiddle with beforw but now its in my face, darn it)i discovered my old coax was smushed..Also not sure if the coax from hard drive happend to be deffective i bought another to test..Lets see how it differs..
Bored maybe if i get this darn truck to tune ill see ya in space..lol
Rabbi posted an idea to try but im gonna hang on to that for a bit yet.. -
well I'm pushing about 900 watts rms with my radio and amp..double that to 1800 watts on a bird meter. running 1ought cable with Anderson sb 350 connectors... think I better stay with the antenna I've got.....but it's in a truck so it's not stationary..so it's not quite pushing all those watts.!!!!!!!!!!!!

Considering a Wilson 5000 has the same gauge wire I would assume it's capacity is just as good as a Wilson 5000bored silly Thanks this.
