In hot weather if the customer doesn't require FRC's but requires bright clothing I wear a high vis long sleeve t-shirt. Much cooler wearing that than wearing a safety vest for 2-4 hours in the hot sun securing a load.

Conversely I loaded at rail site in wyo yesterday and was amazed at the people there that had no hard hat , vest , steel toes etc .

Yep. If I have a multi stop load I often wear my safety vest and steel toed boots between stops if they are close together.
As for the OP wondering about wearing gloves while driving, while I don't wear gloves I have no problems with anyone that does. You do what it takes to protect your health. Carpal tunnel can cripple a driver. If vibrations from the steering wheel are a problem, then do what you need to do.mpow66m, silver dollar, Dave_in_AZ and 1 other person Thank this. -
I was joking daddy lol

Yeah, 90% of my customers require hard hat, safety glasses, FRC's, and safety vests. If I get out of the truck without my gear on I feel naked.cnsper, scythe08 and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

I wouldn't even dream of going to a BNSF or Union Pacific shop without the right gear .cnsper, misterG and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

I've been more aware of UV damage to my skin since arms are looking old and spotty. I got some polyester UV blocking sleeves and thought about wearing gloves too but I stay in the shade pretty good with tinted side windows and good visor. I drive best barehand and barefoot.
Do y'all know why JB Swift wears fingerless gloves?
He like his sexual partner in hotpants.
