I finished up my first 2 weeks on my own. Quite the experience. The first time i took the truck out of the Tacoma yard by myself I felt like I was stealing it or something. Almost hit the stupid Stop sign on the guard shack getting out of the yard. That would have been a great beginning. Overall, things went well. Need to keep working on some details like trip planning, macros, and keep practicing backing which is already much better than it was a couple weeks ago but still needs some tweaking. I'm perplexed at how outdated the qualcomm system is. The technology is like 15yrs behind the times. it's one of those machines where I'm certain the people who designed it never used it. Was lucky to take my restart in my home terminal so i get to chill with the fam for the holiday. So far, liking the job on the whole. haven't been to LA on my own yet so we'll see if i still like it at that point.

So how's it going now... a few days later?
-
Overall good. They're keeping me busy.
-
How long before u pick ur load
-
Im not sure if I understand your question. If you're asking how long i wait between loads, typically i have my next load eiter before or within 20 mins of delivery of the current load.

Where did you hear that from? Because I'm trying to confirm this.
-
I was told if you have load board experience (schneider/landstar) you have to wait 30 days, and if you don't, it's a 6 months wait.

Thanks, I guess that sums it up. May I ask who you heard that from, recruiter, business partner?
