Like those mid-roof Columbia's they put the horns on top of and the stacks behind the doors?
They were like a Yugo with a splitter and wing -
It's a Cascadia "Evolution". They're supposed to be more fuel efficient through aerodynamics. They usually have a DD13. My Cascadia is a normal one with a DD13. The DD13 does not belong in a big rig!! 400 horses is not enough to pull anything heavier than 65k.
-
I don't know how you came up with that but I know I have an almost every old timer has pulled a lot more than 65k with less that 400hp just fine
rocknroll81, Roberts450, not4hire and 2 others Thank this. -
I know with the century and Colombia it was called "tanker style hood" Dart "sells" the short hood Cascadias
-
One of the guys is used to haul grain with ran a tandem Chevy with a gas engine and a 13 speed.
In the days before electronic engines most fleet trucks were 300 hp cut back to around 1700 rpm to control speed, meaning little more than 250 hp, and no Jakes. You guys are so spoiled!wore out, double yellow and Big_D409 Thank this. -
I ran a DD13 pulling pneumatic tank. We were either 80k or 26k. Worked fine. Wasn't a race car....
-
We have a dd13 that will run and hide from a 450 horse ISX.

113" BBC vs. 125" BBC....If I remember right there was less than 500 lbs of weight savings with the shorter hood and DD13 and you really paid for it on the trade-in!
-
I have one, all of Trimac's trucks, the ones they bought from the factory anyway, have them. Honestly, it doesn't do much different then the regular Cascadia I had at Schneider. I suppose some slight help in maneuverability but nothing crazy.
