I like the idea but I don't see them paying $12 for every OTR truck, every night, across the entire fleet.

I always thought reserve spots must be fantastic for reefer. With their crazy appointment times, it would be pretty nifty to be able to park somewhere, leave for appointment and then come back with a guaranteed parking space. Not so much for OTR..

As far as making people move, the truck stops will make people move if they take a reserved space they didn't pay for. To the point of towing them at their (truck driver or their company) expense. If you leave a spot and plan on coming back you gotta let them know though. Otherwise they'll assume the spot is available again.

Out of the three weeks this thing has gone on, only last night did I get a reserve spot set up.

The first week I was home in the middle of the week because freight was weak to get me home on time. No worries because that's the business. When I came back out on Friday, the reserve spot was too far to legally drive so the concession was a drop yard, but screw that, I like to have running water sometimes.

Second week was a long week and no spots offered with most of my loads being three day runs because shipper and consignee closes at 1500.

This week I got a spot last night. Tonight I'll be on the border at the oc, enjoying the dry heat.

Thinking about a program like this, looks good but would be easy for abuse with drivers reserving for spots just so they do not have to walk from the back to the truck stop on the company dime.

oh sure, and they're also starting another program where you have assigned parking at the OC's. Just let them know you're on the way, and when you get there, pull up to the fuel island and a valet will park your ride.
After you finish your complimentary spa / massage, (no happy endings), a golf cart will meet you at the door and tote you back to your truck.
I've done it several time and highly recommend it.

If this program is in fact real, it's a total shame that SNI would pay for parking but not pay for a drivers comfort as in A TRI PAC and refrigerator.

But that's some bean counter for you.
