I had a drug and alcohol test today hoary for me! The place forgot to give me the alcohol test and I had to go back once I already got home. Worst part about it was I was it delayed my meeting with a potential buyer of my 2002 Chevy Astro Van.
Any of you guys interested in a nice 2002 Astro Van it's an LT model with all the bells and whistles.

Ahh another one down. Didn't have to go to the flats today so that was good. Not really a bad day. Had 9-10 stops something like that was loaded fairly good though 600+ cases, but first two stops ate up 300 of those cases second stop was a Courtyard Marriott, with all the Republican Convention stuff going on right now, they had a fairly sizeable 50 case order so that's another 50 cases gone and before I knew it I was at the last stop of the day and back at the yard at noon.
I washed my truck Friday and it rained Saturday and Monday so I went home changed cloths then went back to work to wash my truck again just the outside re-polished all my rims, I don't know what it, is those Alcoa Level 1 Rims they polish up great, but boy they don't stay that way those rims get dull in a hurry it's like every week or every other week you have to re polish them, there's no cleaner that you can just spray on them and they start to shine no it's like the haze up and get dull really really fast, anyhow I repolished my rims put a coat of wax on the parts of the truck I could reach it's pretty sharp now.
Other then that going to go to bed soon I'm hot and tired and ehh nothing's doing as my late grandmother used to say.Cardfan89 Thanks this. -
Been I hot one down here 100+ heat index I had to bail a driver out yesterday and worked my full 14. Today had my normal 700 12 stop route done by 2 was so glad to be home in the ac. Just to do it all over again tomorrow. Stay cool out there we will all make it through the dog days of summer.
Mike2633 Thanks this. -
Don't have to work for another week. Though these northern Michigan river smallies almost qualifies as work.
double_r, Pintlehook, Mike2633 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Well today I had a small skip route 9,000lbs. It went alright, however I had a lot of heavy cases fighting me, knocked over a stack of chicken in a Mexican Restaurant today. The guy working there watched me do it and then just started laughing at me, which I kind of thought was funny.
Hot out side going to be a very hot and miserable weekend if you don't like heat.
RNC is wrapping up and we had celebratory hot dogs today at work because of it, GFS sells these 100% Angus Beef Hot Dogs there really really gooood. Evey now and then they feed us. Actually both companies I've worked at periodically feed us. The beer company did too. Actually will be busy next week because a lot of places down town didn't go and now there's a bunch of pent up demand. Actually this week so far so good. Two days this week I was heading back in the late 11 O'Clock/High Noon hour.
It won't last though school start up will come and routes will go through the roof that's good money though and week before that I'll be in Maryland doing I don't know what probably swing driving. Have to remember the rule Lonecow boy taught us and that's we don't enter a parking lot we have never been to before and do not know how to get out of. -
Coffee's on me at the Aberdeen Wawa if I get down there while you're in the neighborhood. It's a good place to take a 30 minute break. We have a plant in Aberdeen as well so you'll see lots of Frito trucks moseying about. Being from NY I'll be the one who's not moseying
Mike2633 Thanks this. -
Frito we sell a lot of your products at GFS we have to be one of Frito's top customers. I can't tell you how many cases of Frito chips I handle when schools in session half the time I'm thinking I work for Frito Lay LOL!
Yes we sure will have a cup of coffee if you are in Aberdeen week after next because I'll be there too, I wonder what kind of fun swing driving I'll get to do!Rogue246 Thanks this. -
Today was my short day for the week. I left with ten stops on eight skids weighing 4900 lbs. By my third stop sweat had soaked through both of my shirts. Guess it's not that good of an idea to drink a lot of coffee when it's really hot and humid outside.

How many stops do they load you guys down with? Or better question how heavy have you seen them go?
