I've got an old mono-chrome CRT, from a TRS 80... The thing is heavy enough, I bet I could paint my new plastic truck in chrome!

That may be true to a point but please explain it to those who are wondering what in the hell it means.

Most "techs" assemble their bench using random lengths of cable with no scientific reason for doing so......
Phase shift alters what you see....

I not only know what a TRS-80 is I have both the TRS-80 and also the monitor screen. I also have the external memory/drive unit. I think I also have a couple of programming tapes.

If I recall the TRS-80 has a serial number below 100.

If well-intentioned adjustments are made to a radio based on observations made on a misaligned bench, I'm sure you can see the ramifications...

Another example of using a scientific formula to get consistent results every time......
(regardless if the equipment is junk)

    Really?

That's what you think just happened in the videos?

    God ...

    That low rf energy losses.

You need to become more skeptical and ask questions, like what are the settings on the scope, because I can reproduce what was shown without any problem.

When you were making the statement of using a delay line, I was thinking that you were building a phased antenna setup.

You don't use delay lines in alignment of radios unless you are working on high performance mission critical microwave stuff.

As for tuning the radio to the amp, sorry that's the simplified solution to what I keep saying - poor designed amp. when you get into actually learning how these work or take a design and fix it, you will get what I'm getting at.
