Radio operating position is to individual taste. I thought about mounting it directly below the cb but decided that would be too distracting. Where it is if it locks on a frequency I can just cut my eyes quickly and see what frequency it is on. Last truck I tried mounting it to the dash console below the ashtray/cupholder area but found it was hard to read the display and required too much attention. If I was going to use a radio such as the 706mk2G I would mount the detachable control head right above the cb and the radio body back in the sleeper. At 6'1" and somewhere upward of 4.5 million miles I opt for air in the seat to take it easy on my body but that also is a personal choice

Im about 1/2 your mi and 5'8" and for the most part hate air in my seat..Cant seem to find a sweet spot between bounce and the seat bottoming out compressing my spine...So now i just have a seat cussion....

Sooo seeing i smushed my coax i bought a 18ft piece of imitated lmr 240(all i could get on my way home)..Its shielding must suck cause it seems my meter goes ape s#=t crazy with some form of interference and range is seemingly less...Found some stuff on rfi so back to zero again..
Changed the tuner box on my stereo and discovered that the stereo installer just used cheap wire connectors instead of a good solder and heat shrink...Not that i know alot but when i do learn i either create or find new issues.. I figure by the time i get it right then ill kick the bucket or somethin lol
