It's funny, Metrogistics is always cheaper on spot buys than we are, yet if we want it and can handle it, we almost always get it. Why? Because when they get a 100 unit spot buy it takes them weeks to get them moved, when we'll have them gone in days. Even with the big boys, service still makes a difference!

That is correct. Look at the equipment that the person is running that would take this load. Speaks volumes

That's funny. I just had a call from a Michigan based carrier asking me to 'help' them out."We have a load going to Colorado Springs, pays pretty well." My response was not well enough. I didn't even have to look to see what was coming out of that area.

On Facebook in my group the same thing is being discussed. It's simple. Brokers are for profit businesses. Why would they not make every penny they can?? Just like truck owners. The brokers can't move cars if they have no trucks. It's the truck owners that chose to do the work at the rate they agree to. If you want it to change. Stop doing cheap freight. If your moving freight for less than you want. You are causing the problem.

I hope metro goes down the tubes. I'm just amazed they have the balls to post such garbage they can't have very good relations with any haulers and if I was a Customer paying 3 to 4 times the amount they list to move them I wouldn't be happy.

I know of 2 separate companies both between 5 and 10 trucks that haul almost exclusively MG loads. Both have almost all brand new equipment. They can't be paying drivers much.

Spot on, I have been saying the same thing for almost 20 years, we are our own worst enemy when it comes to cheap freight, we control the market as carriers if we have the fortitude to say NO!

P.S., I forgot to call you this week, I will try early next week. My wife and I are going tubing in the Delaware this weekend with friends so I will be out of touch for the weekend. Sorry.

Since I'm based out this way, I'll tell you what comes out of here going east: NOT MUCH!

We have some used freight to the north for our dealers, but when I was in Omaha I regularly had guys that bounced there from Colorado to grab a few singles to get them east.

When I bring Omaha guys over to help us out, they either bounce home, or loop up thru the Dakotas to get back over there. SME and FC have some new freight going that way, but at rates that make bouncing seem even more palatable.
