That's 80% of the left turns in the whole state!

I will second long arm's response. As far as parking, the new England states are tough, but Upstate NY and PA aren't bad at all. Sometimes you just need to be creative and scope out places to park when you get your trip plan.

I just started driving to jersey...watch out for the garden state parkway. My car gps took me there and I was the only truck on the road, cause trucks aren't allowed. The no trucks sign was small and included bicycles, horses, and pedestrians. I saw 3 officers and no one would pull me over and help me get off the thing.

My new truck gps would not make that mistake! I never knew that parkway was code for no trucks.

Now that I have driven to Trenton multiple times I am more comfortable driving in jersey. I have gotten used to the right turns only on highways 1 & 9.

Just remember in NYC the bridge clearance signs are INCORRECT if it says 12'8" and you are 13'6" you'll fit under it just fine 99% of the time.. Makes a lot of sense eh...

"Parkway" is code for "no trucks allowed" for basically the entire NYC tri-state area. That includes the ones in NJ and CT as well. Occasionally you will see trucks on the garden state pkwy hauling fuel to the service plazas but they have a special permit.

That's because they mark them a foot lower (approximately), but you just never know with some of them unless you ask somebody or watch other trucks.
