Millis Transfer has a terminal in Trenton Oh near Cincinnati. I've been with them a year and love it. Get me home(IL) whenever I want usually a day early. On pace to make between 53-55k my 1st yr. Also the instructor at Trenton school is 1 of the best you will find anywhere. They let you have a rider over the age of 10. Can answer any questions you have.Steelersjunkie Thanks this.

As a trainer with Abilene, I can recomme d them as a good company to work for. They have a few issues, but all companies do. I can answer questions if needed. Just send me a PM.

Maybe I'm crazy, but have you decided what you want to haul? I.e. Take a generator and set it outside your bedroom window, if you can sleep then you can pull a reefer. If you have decent upper body strength (you don't have to be Wonder Woman) then maybe flatbed. You need to understand that what you pull has a lot to do with more than just what's behind you. Reefers run nights a lot. Vans tend to split break due to sitting in docks a lot. If you can learn to handle the surge, maybe tanker is for you. Tank very rarely run at night. Just trying to help you understand it's not just about the company. If you jump into reefer and do it for six months and hate it and quit, your going to be mad cause you have to find another line of work, you wasted six months, and you'll be mad you didn't do more planning. Just my two cents.

I wanted to do reefer or dryvan. I dont want to pull tarps so no to flatbed. So regular semi loads is what im looking for. Maybe after experience i would want to try tanker but not starting out.firemedic2816 Thanks this.

If I could do it all over again I'd go straight to jim palmer and never look back. It's reefer but the equipment is awesome and training is legit. Abilene is good, but are you ok with getting paid peanuts for the first six months of driving? Also, they still have cameras. What about Navajo express? Similar to JP.
Anyhow. I'm no expert. But keep in mind, I didn't recommend a single company I'd get a referral for ;PSteelersjunkie and firemedic2816 Thank this. -
When it's time to go home, companies will route you there; doesn't matter where their headquarters is.

Since you're right there in Ohio I would go with Millis, Bill is a very good instructor knows his stuff, equipment is top notch one thing I liked about Millis when I was there we went to a lot of the same places, helps you plan easier IMO

Millis Transfer is a good outfit, but they only run Eastern states.
Abilene runs everywhere and mostly drop & hook.
