Honestly, if you've got some cash in hand to live on, look into Stevens in Dallas for schooling. Texas is pretty easy to get a CDL in, and Stevens will cover the hotel.

I spent some time in their school doing a refresher, and was actually impressed with the quality of instructors at that time (2007). Solid guys who knew not only how to drive bit also how to teach.

Company sucks (in my opinion, and ONLY my opinion), but the schooling and on the road training were top notch.

Did you go to the C1 on Raymond st.? I didn't stay in the hotel either, because I had to stop by work to clock in and out.

Still probably my favorite 2 weeks of my working life. Tuition paid, and I got paid to attend.

If they won't talk to you now, wait until your 1200 miles from home.
