Passed by this week - they are both open and the Soulman's was packed as usual for dinner. The pork was deeeeelicious.

Had a lady at the fuel desk at the old one say that it was still making $$$ so they were gonna keep it open.

Just as an FYI regarding the two Loves truck stops at Van, TX (and the Soulman's bbq)

If headed west, be advised they have recently moved the exit further back, about a quarter mile or more. If you have a routine of going in there often, you might miss the exit if you're operating on auto-pilot and exit when you see the truck stops and bbq place.

Yep that's right. In reality, what they did was extended that frontage road for about a 1/4 or 1/2 mile (east), so the off ramp is that far before the old get off. Its got a new sign there but as @STexan said, if you arent aware its the new exit, you may miss it.....

Ate at Soulman's once. It was ok to me. If I remember correctly, the ribs were a little dry.

Best place I've found for BBQ on the road is the small joint down the hill from the Oak Grove 70 parking lot. $15, and my tummy is full, and my face is full of sauce and smiling. :)
