You'll be alright brother. As long as you learn. Be a sponge. I just graduated in June from a 5 month program myself. What I can tell you from my experience was that I thought when I got my license that I knew it all. I was on top of the world. Then I found a job (with Schneider) and found out I didn't know crap lol. In the 3 weeks of training at Schneider I learned way more than the 5 months in school. They preach safety in everything they do. I'm here 6 weeks now. 3 weeks on my own. In my truck. There is still a learning curve. Everyday I pick up on something new. Or more than one something new. This I will warn you of. Truck drivers are full of crap. All the ones with crappy attitudes talking nonsense about safety will watch and laugh as you struggle to back up. I've ran into some good people. But most are jerks. Just be you. Take the knowledge you gain and use it. Find a good company to go to to learn. Eat crap for a year or 2. Don't jump companies. With 2 years experience and clean driving record you'll be able to get more money. That's if the company you're with doesn't take care of you to keep you. Be safe and good luck!

I blew by the Arkansas scale a week ago because....there were 3 state workers painting the lines AT the entrance. As I entered OK I was thinking 'oh #### Ark is going to call OK to bust my ###' but OK pulled me in and green lighted me...

Thank you for that kind response. I do appreciate it. I know I will do well at school, just hoping they teach me enough to get hired on someplace decent so I can learn what I need for the actual road. I was actually thinking of going with Schneider if they will have me. Hope you like it there. Be safe.

According to Sir Francis Bacon, Thomas Hobbes and Imam Ali (the philosophers who made that phrase famous), you are incorrect.

    There is no "certification"

We have a lowboy that after a few day you have to chase it around the yard to get under it. Spring brakes work after charging the system the first time.

Must be a lot of box haulers in this thread. Every open deck driver I know personally would crawl under the trailer in a thunderstorm if they had to.

I guess it is a mindset. I was taught to be self sufficient not coddled. Next thread you see is whining about not getting miles because of breakdowns.

Did you say breakdown? Not on my watch. Oh wait, I'm on your team...

(Blew a turbo hose clamp and had no spares, this ratchet actually worked and I limped it to a shop from the side of a highway)
