    johnboy, I did call the Vermillion County Attorney's office. I made a deal with them, $220, 6 months probation, no moving violations and I get no points.

    I called a couple of the suggested attorneys, can't remember now, $675, with exactly the same $220f fine, 6 months probation. So thanks for your post, it worked out as well as it could have.

    I figured I'd hit the sign, the city employee witnessed, and I accepted the consequences while minimizing the damage as well as possible. Thank you to any who helped with ideas and resources. Jim
