No I'm completely serious no joke

Here are the brutal facts about the E-log:
1) depending on your carrier's set up, generally the only duty status you CANNOT edit is the drive time.
2) adding tin foil or whatever will not help. The computer has a stand alone battery for power, and if it does not have a signal it will store all relevant information for upload when it does have a signal. So blocking the antenna is useless.
3) if your trip requires 10.5 hours to complete, and you only have 9.5 hours, you either call your dispatcher and reschedule OR deliberately go into violation on the HOS regulations and willingly pay the possible consequences of such.
It's your license, your job, and potentially your freedom and life. Choose carefully.ladr and TequilaSunrise Thank this. -
Aye! Time can not be created....
LindaPV Thanks this. -
This right here is the answer as long as you dont get paid for loading time. Edit any and all on duty time to off duty time from the start of todays 14. That should give you the time you need unless you dont have any on duty time to edit. Then call dispatch and tell them you dont have enough time to make the delivery.CrappieJunkie Thanks this.

But can be managed !TequilaSunrise Thanks this.

As with any rules things can be persuaded.
LindaPV Thanks this. -
And people wonder why e-logs are getting pushed....
Drive time cannot be edited by a driver using an AOBR, can only be edited by the office. Next time don't accept a load you cannot legally do, and go ahead and call dispatch so they know they will have to reschedule.

I'm on paper logs I'll do your load and get it there on time.
