Oppertunities come and they go. Just get in and do your thing. When it pulls it's ### off, upshift when it lugs down you go. You will be getting that job because most everyone who is sent to evaluate a hire usually do not have a mindset to break said hire. Unless hire does something unacceptable like throwing a trailer backwards at 20 mph... trying to showboat. These get sent home.
I think I lost my Mojo

Restriction code 'E', amongst the others.x1Heavy Thanks this. -
My word. The avalanche of restrictions is getting to be ########. Pardon my french.
In my day we had a pre-1994 Class A with no restriction anywhere except motorcycle. Then 1994 came along with 4 endorsements needed, Pass, hazmat, tank and doubles. (You did not get CDL without passing airbrakes test... or recieved a restriction for non air vehicle) Now these new ones...
The medical waivers for whatever condition that otherwise prohibits you from CDL being marked on the new licenses is a problem also... Too many cooks in the kitchen. Usually the Federal in DC decides if you can drive with a doctor's note saying you are safe with such a such medical issue out there. Now the states want a peice of you too. -
Just trying to reason with you...but "one day to click in" is not a plan to get where you want to be. swallow your pride and do the refresher training. I've failed people on a road test over shifting.x1Heavy Thanks this.

Have you talked to Celadon and asked what the company expects? Before you do your road test ask the tester if you can do a few laps on the yard to get used to the truck. Put it in low range and practice some shifts. LOOK at the shifting diagram and dry shift the pattern.TruckerWill54 Thanks this.

As have I.

It's gonna be a shift from low 4th to high 5th which is usually the low 1st gear position that gets some people. One transmission I remember requires you to cross the box to the side then go for the high 5th or was it 6th? I get fuzzy.
Don't mind me... mumbling about glory gone by. -
In a 10sp, 6th is past spring and downx1Heavy Thanks this.

TY.. I was trying to remember the tens.. I knew there was a over and down hiding somewhere... man I resent getting old. I forget too much stuff now...
All Im trying to explain is that spring catches most newbies (No offense please) because they are stressed about catching the high range shift or getting back down into low.
I tell them you know where that 1st gear is? Remember it. You will be fine.firemedic2816 Thanks this. -
I found it... 3
bottle in fact
x1Heavy and TruckerWill54 Thank this.
