Schneider, claiming to be the best trucking company in the country. Schneider has overworked their DBLS so badly that they have repeatedly FORGOTTEN that my husband has approved time off, allowing planners to plan him routes that make him several days late for his off time. This time my husband will be two days late (missing his appointments!) because the DBL "forgot"!!! The only compensation they offered was to "try not to do it again"!

its critical the driver reminds dbl several times in the last week before scheduled REQUESTED time off . dbl has dozens of drivers to tend to.

lastly sni makes no garuantees about home time.

Good point. I stay on top of my dbl about home time and I'm usually only a day late.

And very true. Schneider makes a lot of promises, but no guarantees.

I think one of the better posts I've seen here was saying how when a driver doesn't say anything, their dbl assumes they're happy. Complain and things will happen. I complain all the time, I just make it a very friendly conversation to not piss my dbl off. There's complaining about life in general with suggestions on what can be done to improve it (while insinuating understanding that it's not the dbl's fault) and there's yelling at dbl. One of those gets results.

I have some issues with Schneider, but home time isn't one of them. I'm only on a 12/2 schedule and I may be very lucky but SNI has always gotten me home on time, 100%.

Also, thinking about it, it may be easier if you are only working regional and don't go out that far.

Last week I needed to be home by Wednesday night. Sunday night SNI assigned a load that would have had me 800 miles away midday Tuesday. If I got a load directly up I could have made it no problem. Computer said the load was perfect and the APM thought she was being nice by giving me a long load after being royally screwed Sunday morning. Simple message in saying "do you have a plan for getting me back? If not will SNI refund the money I will lose by missing this appt?". Load quickly turned into a relay.

I also spent a couple hours hanging out with my dbl on Friday. The amount of stupid decisions made by drivers in that time was mind boggling.

I don't talk hardly ever to my DBL. He even apologized to me for not being available. I had personally gone to him to have a sit down to discuss what I've done wrong and what I could be doing better. There were a couple reimbursement issues I had but they seem to be getting resolved. And one day I dealt with down time of detention that hasn't gotten paid. It's been addressed twice and if it doesn't get fixed this week we'll have a coming to Jesus meeting behind the shed lol. One day I was 2 days late on my home time because of my error. The 2nd I was early coming back and asked to have another local run. They told me they would have me stage some weekend stuff but when I got there they had someone else do it. So I lost a little bit of money there but still home on time. The first time though, I forgot, they gave me a 700 mile load that I knew would push my home time back. Talked to the wife and I decided to take it. So technically I wasn't late 2 days. Either way, when you get that assignment and it's going to be impossible to get home when you want, speak up. As much as their the "boss" for a lot of stuff you have to be for as much if not more. You're the captain to your vessel. Where you don't go it won't go.

She also complained on Schneiders FB page, demanding the she be compensated for her husbands missed appointments. It was actually quite entertaining

This gave me the idea of using work to get out off a weekend trip with the mother in law. "Sorry hun, work couldn't get me home." PERFECT!!! I'm certain that this is not happening in this case though. Hopefully when I use it my wife won't take to Facebook and this forum. I hope she doesn't find this post either!
